“Obvia” emerged through direct observation of geometric typefaces and an initial exploration of three width axes – Normal, Narrow Wide and Expanded – within each condensed typeface width axis: condensed Normal Wide Expanded. The purpose behind its creation was to break free from geometrically pure forms – specifically square geometric forms – by breaking up these straight axes using diagonals instead.
